THE ROMANIAN CARPATHIAN SHEPHERD
The canine species has an evolution among the most spectacular and interesting of all domesticated animals. The dog is considered, almost in unison, the closest to man, because it helped him survive and evolve as well.
With the emancipation of society, dog breeds began to be formed, used for various purposes, such as guarding and defense, hunting, company, leisure, etc.
The most important factors that influenced the appearance of the breeds, were the environment, food or work in which they were used. The expression of any canine breed is based on its origin and history, defining them and at the same time differentiating them from each other. The Romanian Carpathian Shepherd has a history recorded in various publications over time, almost a hundred years, which helped us to know and understand him as a breed.
After long debates, controversies and a lot of selection work, in 2015 Romania managed to obtain from the International Canine Federation the recognition of the Romanian Carpathian Shepherd as a breed and implicitly the final homologation, an occasion of great joy for all lovers of this breed.
Due to its extraordinary balanced character as well as through its innate guard and defense instinct, the Romanian Carpathian Shepherd is recommended for effective work in nature or company, leisure, needing very brief socialization.
Participation in national and international dog shows, obtaining remarkable results, gives the breed security and stability in its evolution.
The Romanian Carpathian Shepherd is a naturally formed breed and will remain so.
